Overview
Periods of unusually narrow price range often precede larger moves. Narrow-range patterns such as NR4 and NR7, inside bars and contracting ranges are a long-standing way traders find instruments coiling before expansion.
This scanner is specified to detect volatility compression across a universe, rank instruments by how compressed they are, and then monitor those candidates for a range break in either direction.
